Though we are hurt in relationships, we also find connection and healing in safe communities wherein we can home to ourselves and find peace again. Only in safe, supportive community can we regulate our minds, bodies, and souls to find the capacity to show up for ourselves and for others in a way that is nurturing and transformative.
My approach is strengths- based, abolition-based, decolonial, and culturally competent. Although I’m the clinician, YOU are the expert of your experience and I am open to feedback! I am trained in CBT, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and am familiar with DBT. On my own time, I also study polyvagal theory and nervous system dysregulation.
On a personal note, I am a second generation Desi who has navigated identity struggles and my own healing journey. I am deeply passionate about empowering Urdu/Hindi speakers on paths towards liberation. However, whatever your background or story is, this is a safe space! You are never alone. We will figure it out together, one step, one breath at a time.
A note that I am supervised by Anne Slater, LCSW-S. I can also conduct sessions entirely in Urdu/Hindi if necessary.
