Stressed & Burned Out and Cultural Burnout: When expectations and responsibilities have become too much. We lose motivation, desire to engage or be involved, and slowly, it begins to feel as if we’re losing ourselves. Feelings of resentment and exhaustion becomes all that we can feel. And we feel guilty having those feelings. It’s too overwhelming.
Conflicting thoughts and feelings of who you are versus whats expected of you from family and society, just eats at you. Anxiety from living up to unrealistic expectations, pressure of constant competition, money equating to success, respect, and conditional love; especially, ensuring parents are pleased first. Harsh criticism, strictness, and disciple from our parents is defined as “love” and “care”, we endure in adulthood. As a result, we second guess ourselves, await criticism, constantly feel unworthy & lack confidence. Simply because competition dictates how much validation, love, and respect you’ll receive. Trying to explain all this to our parents and family just feels impossible. I’ve been there and I can help.
