Are you tired of having to educate your therapist about your cultural background, traditions and practices? Maybe you want your culture to be given consideration as a protective factor- you pull up a chair for it in every other conversation, why wouldn’t it be a part of your therapy session? On top of that, you struggle with neurodivergence and can’t seem to find a therapist who gets it- all of it.
Meet Lydia. Lydia’s mission is to create a safe and inclusive space where individuals of all backgrounds can thrive. With a deep-rooted commitment to decolonizing mental health, she believes that healing is most effective when it respects and embraces the diverse cultures, experiences, and identities that make each client unique. Whether it’s exploring generational and genetic trauma or using cultural traditions as sources of strength and resilience, Lydia helps weave your cultural tapestry into your therapeutic work.
Suicide prevention is also a cause close to her heart, and Lydia is dedicated to amplifying the voices of South Asian, immigrant, and Punjabi communities in this critical conversation. Together, Lydia and her clients navigate this sensitive topic with empathy and create strategies to promote mental well-being.
Additionally, as a member of the neurodivergent community herself, Lydia and her clients navigate the beautiful and complex landscape of neurodiversity, celebrating the unique strengths it brings while addressing the challenges with empathy and understanding. Lydia incorporates elements from a variety of modalities including the Safe and Sound Protocol, CBT and other approaches to ensure her clients are receiving the most up-to-date evidence-based practices.
Therapy isn’t just about healing but also about celebrating the beautiful mosaic of your life. Together, Lydia and her clients navigate the waters of mental health with empathy, respect, and cultural reverence.
