As an immigrant myself, I understand that everyone’s experiences are different and all still valid. I aim to create a space where we can explore the influence of various cultures on your life, while still not assuming that you are solely coming to therapy because there is conflict between generations in your family, or difficulties navigating a new society. I grew up in a society where mental health was almost a taboo. Maybe you also struggle with feeling like it is safe to reach out. I am here to advocate for your mental health and help you create change.
I received my graduate degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. I have experience working with clients who have depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, and stress. While I integrate several therapeutic perspectives, I am specifically trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy which seeks to identify and change harmful thought patterns and behaviors.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate with the State of Washington (#MC61199372). I regularly seek consultation from colleagues as well as my licensed supervisor, Katherine Walter, MSW, LICSW, CSW-G (LICSW #LW 60136151). I am multilingual in English, Hindi and Kannada.
