The South Asian Mental Health Initiative and Network (SAMHIN) is proud to once again collaborate with the Hindu Temple Society of America to bring mental health awareness and screenings to their annual health fair. The event will take place at the iconic Hindu Temple, also called Sri Maha Vallabha Ganapati Devasthanam or Ganesh Temple in the heart of Flushing, New York.

SAMHIN’s team of psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health counselors, and social workers will offer confidential mental health screenings and be available to answer questions related to mental health, as well as tobacco, alcohol, and substance use. Attendees will receive personalized guidance and referrals as needed, with a strong commitment to privacy throughout the screening process. Free educational materials will also be provided. In addition, Narcan and information on its use will be available to help prevent opioid overdose deaths.

In addition to mental health services, the health fair will offer a range of medical screenings, including EKGs, general checkups, blood pressure and BMI assessments, and blood tests such as cholesterol screening.
