Promoting Wellness and Resilience – Preventing Tragedies
There is shock and sadness in the aftermath of the tragic death of four individuals (parents and two children) in Plainsboro, NJ. Engineers of the NIT alums are looking for ways to understand this and learn what can be done to prevent such tragedies. The workshop will address anxiety and stress issues, mental illness stigma, domestic violence, and why South Asians are reluctant to seek help when needed.
Free Mental Health Screening – Evesham, NJ
SAMHIN team of mental health providers will provide free screenings for stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, ADHD, etc. We will answer your questions about mental illness, treatments, addiction, and tobacco use.
South Asian Substance Use Workshop – Jersey City, NJ
The workshop will increase awareness and understanding of substance use, including alcohol and various legal and illegal drug use, in South Asians. Attendees will learn how to cope with and address substance use in their loved ones.
