Therapy can help support people when they are having a hard time, especially when their usual coping strategies and support systems aren’t enough. Some people want to reduce symptoms while others want to go beyond symptoms and thrive! My clients tend to have a variety of concerns: trauma, anxiety, big feelings, relationships, anxiety, procrastination, perfectionism, navigating multiple cultures and intersectional identities, undergraduate and graduate school challenges.
I like to understand my clients’ concerns in the context of current and past daily life, surrounding people, culture, and sociopolitics. Having a better understanding of new and old underlying patterns within ourselves and around us is important. We can honor them and be intentional about how to navigate through them. Sometimes I can relate!
