I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital with a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School. I finished my undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley, and medical school at the University of Vermont. Subsequently, I completed residency and public psychiatry fellowship at Boston University Medical Center.
During my clinical training, I was awarded the Early Career Psychiatrist Fellowship by the World Psychiatric Association for my work at the Boston Center for Refugee Health and Human Rights. Over the last ten years, I have specialized in providing trauma-informed care with cultural humility at its core. My background in yogic psychology and interest in Ayurveda also inform my clinical approach. This enables me to forge meaningful connections with my patients, embracing their diverse experiences and fostering a genuine sense of understanding and partnership.
I take a holistic approach to care that starts with thoroughly understanding root causes and your personal story, not just treating surface symptoms. I’ll listen closely to understand your aspirations and challenges. While medication may play a role, it is only one piece of an integrated treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. This could include modalities like talk therapy, coaching, lifestyle changes, optimizing nutrition, exploring your spirituality, and integrative techniques – all aimed at empowering you and firmly placing the reins of your mental well-being in your grasp.
I also provide advisory services for program development/growth, quality improvement initiatives, and staff training on a variety of clinical topics.
