I work at a group private practice in Nashville, TN called The Greystone Retreat. We offer individual, couples, and group counseling to those in the community on a sliding scale fee. We serve a diverse range of clients from all walks and backgrounds of life. My background includes working with victims of intimate partner violence at the Metro Nashville Police Department. I am a graduate of Lipscomb University where I completed my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My research focus was on women’s issues, and specifically the intersection of religiosity and female sexual shame. I am applying to doctoral programs in the Northeast to continue my education in Counseling Psychology and hope to expand my research to the South Asian community.
I am striving to expand my practice to be more accessible to the South Asian community. I am a biracial South Asian female, first generation American born on my father’s side. I understand the stigma associated with mental health and mental illness in the Indian community and I hope to be a part of changing that stigma in our communities.
