Identifying Mental Illness and Barriers to Care

May is both Asian Pacific-American Heritage Month (APAHM) and Mental Health Awareness Month. A collaborative event hosted by Con Edison Employee Resource Groups APACE (AsianProfessional Alliance of Con Edison ) & CapeABLE (Advocating Belonging Leading and Engaging) and Asian Leadership Association (ALA)), along with National Grid to raise awareness of mental health, identify obstacles, and provide resources to the Con Edison and National Grid communities.
Dr. Vasudev Makhija, President of SAMHIN, will speak on identifying mental illness and barriers to help-seeking.
Dr. Matt Poon, a clinical psychologist will speak on a range of mental health issues in the Asian communities.
