I am a dedicated Psychotherapist and Psychoanalyst with over thirty five years of experience in clinical work with patients of diverse backgrounds . I have worked successfully with south asian patients and their adult children.
I am particularly interested in helping people who suffer from anxieties and depression resulting from multicultural conflicts that arise in growing up in a different culture from their parent’s original culture. I have worked a lot with couples who are of different backgrounds and often religion. Using my own earlier experiences in this country. I am very sensitive to various issues in attempting to integrate in the society here and preserving one’s own culture .
My Psychoanalytic training has prepared me to help people to become aware of their rich unconscious inner world, their wishes and desires ,and thereby help more effectively with demands of outside reality and help to overcome traumatic stress and difficulties. I focus on helping people to feel better and more whole , to learn and grow , to be more productive or freer.
People also are helped to overcome alcohol and other addictions by dealing with their core self-esteem issues.
