I am a second-generation Pakistani Muslim woman. I work with a variety of concerns including but not limited to anxiety, depression, family of origin concerns, internalized racism and sexism, eating concerns, grief/loss, self-esteem and trauma. If you are someone struggling with feelings of hopelessness and a lack of motivation, racing thoughts, excessive worry, or PTSD or you are someone navigating a change in your life such as a new job, a new relationship, or spiritual doubt we might be a good therapeutic fit.
I work primarily from a relational-cultural, interpersonal, and feminist lens. This means that I often ask my client’s questions about how emotions were talked about in their family, social spaces they feel connected and disconnected from, and the impact of family and societal scripts on well-being.
You can expect our first few sessions to include learning about one another, building trust, and helping me understand how I can support you. As we continue to work together you can expect me to support you by challenging you to reflect on your role in relationships, how you are connected to your body, and addressing how to live life with intention.
