SUMMARY:Substance Use in Asian Communities and Culturally Relevant 12-Step Facilitation (TSF) Interventions
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will be presented for the psychiatrists at the annual convention of American Psychiatric Association. \nWorkshop will discuss prevalence of substance use in Asian Communities in the U.S. and identify cultural barriers to care. It will address myths\, perceptions and challenges in the management of alcohol use in South Asians in the U.S. And\, the workshop will also discuss importance of culturally relevant Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for the Asians including South Asian community.
