Mental Health Awareness at Glen Cove Mela Long Island

The historic annual event of Glen Cove Mela will serve as a great opportunity to bring mental health awareness to this Long Island Sikh community. SAMHIN team will provide a safe space to engage the community members in a meaningful dialogue on mental health and substance use. The goal is to raise the mental health awareness, decrease stigma, increase mental health literacy of the community. Will provide free educational material.

South Asian Mental Health Initiative and Network – SAMHIN, will bring mental health awareness and screenings to the 20th Grand Glen Cove Mela at the Gurudwara Mata Sahib Kaur in Glen Cove, Long Island. Besides mental health there will be other general health screening as well. There will be free vegetarian good from local restaurants, arts and crafts and more. Khalsa Carnival will provide an entertaining feast for the eyes. SAMHIN team of volunteers will  provide safe space to engage the community in a mental health dialogue. Free educational material will be distributed to improve the mental health literacy of the community.

PARKING: There is parking available at The Mansion at Glen Cove, 200 Dosoris Lane Glen Cove, NY 11542. A free shuttle will be provided. (No parking available at Gurudwara Sahib)
